Sonic unleashed ps2 graphics wii4/7/2023 Sonic then decides to help Chip regain his memory. I won't spoil any more of the story for people who haven't played the game, but I will talk about gameplay. There is no blood but there is mild-violence in the nighttime stages, such as: kicking, punching, clawing, slamming, and throwing. Sonic can be set on fire, and he will flail with pain. If Sonic falls off a cliff or into water he will scream. The nighttime stages are a blast to play, except for these few reasons: the nighttime stages are very challenging, and are very long. Quick-time events in the nighttime stages are very hard, and are punishing if you fail to complete them. The reason why that is so frustrating is because in the Holoska nighttime stage (Cool Edge) there are icicles and poles that you need to grab but if you fail to jump off in the right direction fast enough, the icicle will fall or the pole will crumble, then it's a 99.9% chance that you will die.Īnyway, enough about the nighttime stages, on to the daytime stages! Sometimes the game will not register when you have pressed the button to grab onto a pole, and is slow to register when you pressed the button to jump off. In the daytime stage you speed around in a challenging environment, collecting rings and trashing bots. There are quick-time events in the daytime stages as well, but they are not as punishing as the nighttime quick-time events. This is the first Sonic game to introduce boosting, and it is also the fastest Sonic game. The boosting can be a little hard to get used to, but it is still very enjoyable. The music in this game is the best music in any Sonic game, with the instruments changing in every continent. The graphics are awesome if they are on PS3 or XBox 360, but very bad on the Wii and PS2. So, that's my review! This game is a must if you have a PS3 or XBox 360, but don't waste your money on the Wii or PS2 versions. This game is most certainly for kids but old sonic fans can also enjoy this game. There is violence but there is no blood or extreme violence its mostly something like fantasy-violence type thing and the violence is extremely mild. ![]() ![]() Mild enough for a child for at least 6+ years old. ![]() To a review of the actual game itself its actually just a good sonic game. Something sega should take inspiration of. From the opening cinematic randered beautiful and captures everything you need to know about Sonic The Hedgehog as a character. ![]() Honestly, we need more games with this kind of endgame climax, except maybe minus the fake difficulty bit - I kinda miss the feeling of making it to the last level of a game and actually feeling like I'm gonna be in for a goddamned nightmare of a level, too many games these days pussy out at that stage and end up under-delivering.ĭark Gaia is still an immensely shit boss though.Sonic beats Eggman once again but Eggman has an Ace up his sleeve and traps Sonic, sucking all the energy out of the chaos emeralds and using the energy to release a huge blast which splits the world into pieces (7 pieces I counted) and releasing a God sealed inside the world for decades. "Hey guys, did you hear Eggman made Eggmanland into his own country? And that it's harder than dodging rain in a fucking cyclone?" or something along those lines was a pretty common thing to see, and just the mere mention of the name carries an aura of intimidation that even Scrap Brain can't compare to. I mean, you should've seen the buzz about that level shortly after release. Eggman has a nation to himself in order to build that place that he's been trying to for the better part of, oh say, a decade? It's practically his fucking magnum opus, pretty much his dream project come true, and it wouldn't feel right if it were anything but sadistically, masochistically difficult.Īnd just in achieving that much, it manages to be the single most memorable level in the entire game, regardless of whether or not in a good way. Maybe it's wrong to think this way, but I love Eggmanland because of the ridiculous (even if fake) difficulty.
